This Tuesday, the “Actufoot Awards” ceremony was held in Nice. Football clubs from the Alpes-Maritimes were honored for their season. After a five-year absence of trophy presentations, Actufoot 06 wanted to make a notable return.
“It’s a pleasure to see so many of you again,” exclaimed the evening’s host, Rida Boukercha, during his presentation speech for the ceremony. A small group of around a hundred people gathered on Tuesday, June 14, for the “Actufoot Awards“. The goal was to reward the players from the Côte d’Azur and their clubs for the past season. Five years since the last event, the organizing media wanted to make a worthy comeback, hosting the guests at the café-theater on Place Saint François. Coaches, players, club managers, all were present in the hope of winning a prize.
A Desire to Highlight Regional Football Again
“Reorganizing the Actufoot Awards was ultimately an obvious choice.” These are the words of Thomas Gucciardi, editor-in-chief of Actufoot 06. The journalist shared a considerable effort by the media lately to restore the image of the clubs through the ceremony: “Covid took its toll on amateur football for two seasons. Actufoot really wanted to bring the 06 back to the center of this project. We’ve been putting in twice the effort for several months to make it a reference.” These five years allowed the media to focus its work on the clubs of the Côte d’Azur and the rest of France.
A Strong Diversity of Trophies
The awards covered all positions. In total, fourteen prizes were awarded, involving the different divisions of football in the region. Best goalkeeper or district player, best referee, and best young club, the variety of trophies ensures greater visibility for their winners. That’s not all, as the higher positions were also nominated, like the club presidents, won by the renowned Anny Courtade of AS Cannes. In total, no less than twenty clubs were on the guest list, such as FC Pays de Grasse, Gazélec Nice, and AS Vence. Once distributed, the prizes gave way to a buffet and a cocktail dinner to warmly end the evening.
