Nice native Alizée Cornet won in the first round of the Roland Garros tournament this Sunday, around midday, against Czech player Renata Voracova, ranked 122nd in the WTA rankings, in two sets (6-4, 6-2).
Strong in rallies, the 21-year-old from the Azure Coast generally dominated the game and was greatly aided by numerous errors from Voracova.
Cornet will face, in the second round on Tuesday, the winner of the match between Russian Anastasia Pivovarova (world no. 95) and Spanish player Nuria Llagostera Vives (world no. 111). In either case, it will be an accessible second round for Alizée.
