Having become a “classic” at the beginning of the year, the interfaith calendar was presented by the president of Alpes-Maritimes Fraternité, Christian Estrosi, who was accompanied by an emblematic guest, the mayor of Algiers, in the presence of representatives of civil and religious institutions and the associative world.
The calendar will be widely distributed and each student will receive a copy.
As every year for about ten years, representatives of all faiths come together despite their differences to convey a single message: choose good over evil.
A challenge of hope that is even more significant following the tragedy of July 14th, which struck Nice heavily, claiming victims from all religious faiths and leaving deep moral scars.
Christian Estrosi wanted to highlight in his speech: “We had everyone’s mobilization instead of dividing us as the organizers and the executor wanted,” before denouncing “the manipulation of a religion for political purposes.”
For this, he asserted, elected officials must exercise public responsibilities in the name of all citizens, regardless of their religion.
This is the goal of Alpes-Maritimes Fraternité: to promote the free communication of thoughts and opinions in a more tolerant world.
A world characterized by innovation and the acceleration of knowledge, which holds the promises of a better life not only materially but also with a spiritual dimension.
Wishes for 2017? We must continue to travel together along the already paved path, that of peace and freedom.
