On October 8, 2024, the Approche Globale Autisme (AGA) association, in partnership with Autisme PACA, is organizing a training session in Nice. It will be held at the Le Galet amphitheater at the Pasteur 2 Hospital, from 10 am to 4 pm.
The training is titled “Understanding and Managing Behavioral Challenges in Autistic People: Emotional Regulation, Crisis Anticipation, and Proposals for Replacement Procedures”. It aims to provide caregivers and professionals with tools to better support autistic individuals.
Sophie Laurent, psychologist and behavior analyst, will lead the day. The topics covered will include understanding challenging behaviors in autistic individuals, as well as the reasons and functions of these behaviors. Participants will also learn how to teach more appropriate replacement behaviors.
Emotion management and the development of flexibility in autistic individuals will also be on the agenda. Techniques such as visual cues and better organization of the environment will be explained.
This training is part of a support project aimed at improving the social integration of autistic individuals in the Alpes-Maritimes and Var regions. The event is free, and registration can be done here.
This day will allow professionals and families to acquire concrete methods to understand and manage behavioral crises, while promoting supportive guidance.
