The Antoine LACASSAGNE Center has inaugurated the installation of its very first interactive and touch-sensitive kiosk.
This is a state-of-the-art computerized communication device, the possibility of adapting which to the hospital environment had been studied for over a year by the Center’s staff, under the initiative of Dr. Catherine CIAIS.
Today, the deed is done; the high-tech equipment is tamed; however, financing it had to be ensured. This is where the Friends of LACASSAGNE Association and the charitable concerts it organizes come into play, notably the one held at the beginning of 2014 with the participation of Mr. Richard GALLIANO, who is also the patron of the Association.
Furthermore, on the front face of the installed equipment, a silkscreened message reminds one of the Association’s name accompanied by a small accordion, as a nod to this great French Artist who operates within the very exclusive circle of the most well-known personalities in the world, without whose help nothing would have been possible so swiftly.
The implementation of this kiosk will allow addressing the expectations of the patients or their families, particularly upon leaving the Establishment.
Indeed, illness, loss of autonomy, even temporary, the situation of suffering, or the mere necessity to continue a treatment sequence in an unsuitable environment poses existential questions to which this new-generation communication equipment, interactive and highly accessible, provides suitable responses, if not personalized ones, as the analysis of each situation is based on the multidisciplinarity bringing essential elements to each case to make as informed choices as possible.
The purpose of the Association is to provide hospitalized Persons with certain comfort elements that would be difficult to budget within the regular administration of a healthcare establishment; the funds raised through its events are dedicated to this purpose and find in this latest acquisition a use perfectly aligned with its aspirations.
