The NGO “Les Amis Des Enfants” celebrated its 10th anniversary yesterday at the Radisson Blue hotel in Nice. During the celebration, Murielle Tran-Escolano presented her work, her meeting with Sister Emmanuelle, the creation of the association, and all the actions that are carried out there.
The Association Les Amis Des Enfants (ADE) has organized numerous collections that allowed donors and volunteers to collect donations for the implementation of various programs.
In numbers: 52 events, 24 tons of oranges for the children, sold at 1 euro each: on the streets, in supermarkets, during artistic and also humanitarian events. 800,000 euros collected in 10 years!
Les Amis Des Enfants is committed to the work of Sister Emmanuelle, which is to mobilize, collect concrete humanitarian aid on the ground, to meet the essential needs of the populations.
The association, born from the meeting of Muriel Tran Escolona with Sister Emmanuelle and the children of Sudan, responds to Sister Emmanuelle’s emergency call to help the Sudanese populations where the war has caused more than 2 million deaths. These children are among the most destitute in the world and have witnessed the first genocide of our century.
The specificity of the association is to operate solely with volunteers, and thus be able to allocate all funds to Sister Emmanuelle’s children.
In Sudan, with an annual contract of 50,000 euros, they contribute to the nutrition of children, medical assistance for raped women, vocational training for adults, the supply of drinking water, and participate in assisting the disabled, the elderly, children separated from their parents, and orphans… Each year more than 70,000 people benefit from their programs in North and South Sudan.
In Madagascar, the NGO has developed a program for building a school and a dispensary thanks to the support of two local companies from the Provence Alpes Cรดtes d’Azur region.
Micro projects in India have been set up to help local structures develop existing projects in the fields of Health and Education in favor of women and children.
Les Amis Des Enfants works in close collaboration with all the associations created by Sister Emmanuelle in the fields of Health and Education.
In France, the ADE runs aid programs for disadvantaged children, notably for academic support. They raise awareness among students about humanitarian actions and sustainable development during conferences and by creating partnerships in tutored projects with the authorization of the National Education. “What is important to us is to develop business partnerships and ensure the work’s longevity,” explains Murielle Tran Escolano.
A project for a center for autistic children is being set up; a sponsor has offered land in the PACA region. But the association lacks the necessary funds for the construction and fitting out of this center. It calls for business partnerships to support this project and others currently underway.
“The more we are together, the stronger we are,” Sister Emmanuelle taught us.
