The Committee of the Regions, created in 1994, is the assembly of local and regional representatives from the 27 member states of the European Union. It comprises 344 elected officials, including 24 French representatives, half from the regions and the other half from departments and municipalities. The Committee of the Regions offers local authorities the opportunity to make their voices heard on European policy issues. The Commission, Parliament, and Council of the European Union must consult it before each decision affecting regional and local interests such as vocational training, transport, or cohesion policy.

An important appointment for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and for the green regional councilors.

She will be the voice of the green councilors who have always advocated a territorial vision based on strengthening the regional aspect.

“My appointment to the Committee of the Regions, particularly within the Environment and Natural Spaces commissions where increasingly strategic issues for the regions are debated, is a great opportunity for the greens and for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, which I intend to fully seize and utilize,” she declared.
