Last Saturday marked the debut of the brand-new ASPTT Nice team. This team, assembled from all over the world of handball, is headlined by the best goalkeeper in the world, Valérie Nicolas. One might have expected that the extensive media coverage of this champion would lead to some jealousy, but that is not the case. “We are united and proud to play with her,” field player Jennifer Pierre tells us.
These 16 exceptional handball players hosted their neighbors from La Garde on Saturday at their home court in the small Eucalyptus gymnasium. Even though it was a bit cramped for the 500 spectators present, the team managed to secure a relatively easy victory in their arena with a score of 32 goals to 23.
The National 2 championship continues for the team from Nice on Saturday, October 11, 2008, against AS Cannes.
