In line with the numerous tribute events in 2014, the year marking the 70th anniversary of the landing, and amidst the current surge in historical memory, the Cie Lorencel presents its new solo performance, COMBAT(S) by and with Sophie Satti, in collaboration with Laurence Laouadi.
This show retraces the life of Berthie Albrecht, a Resistance fighter during World War II, recognized as a companion of the liberation and a prime figure of feminism.
It will be presented at the Francis Gag theater on November 25, and additional dates are already planned for 2015, with the aim of considering a tour in France.
This solo performance is of multiple importance: not only artistic but also historical, addressing numerous controversial topics that exist today, but that also existed over 50 years ago, thus warning us against current latency.
A true historical, cultural, and contemporary message, while remaining an artistic piece where the accurate and sensitive interpretation by Sophie Satti helps the audience endure what is addressed, this show truly deserves to be seen and widely disseminated, in order to inform, as a duty of remembrance, and in tribute to a great, yet too little-known figure.
