The suspect in the attack at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Nice on October 29 has been indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on Monday, December 7, announced the national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office in a statement. Brahim Aouissaoui is being prosecuted for “murders in connection with a terrorist enterprise,” “attempted murders in connection with a terrorist enterprise,” and “participation in a criminal terrorist organization,” the statement detailed.
Seriously wounded during his arrest and testing positive for coronavirus, the 21-year-old Tunisian had been transferred in early November from a hospital in Nice to a hospital in the Paris region.
His health condition has recently improved, allowing for his interrogation by an anti-terrorism examining judge and his indictment.
