Avenge in the championship

This Sunday, February 2nd, OGC Nice will be eager to get revenge against OL in order to lessen the sadness from this week’s match against the same opponent.

Indeed, the Gym was eliminated from the Coupe de France this Wednesday after a last-minute defeat with a penalty converted by Aouar.

But this Sunday will be an entirely different match with a far different objective. Indeed, in the league, the red and black team must secure a victory to maintain a slim hope of reaching European spots by the end of the season. However, OL also needs a victory to catch up with their competitors for the podium.

With the transfer market closing on January 31st at midnight, both teams have been able to strengthen their squads, notably OGC Nice, which, in the final hours before the market closed, secured the loan with a purchase option for the promising Senegalese right-back Moussa Wagué from FC Barcelona.
Thus, thanks to this new player, Nice will finally be able to field a professional right-back, which has been lacking since Youcef Atal’s absence.

The Gym is also recording the return of Riza Durmisi, who has recovered from his thigh injury. However, after his early exit this Wednesday in the Coupe, Wylan Cyprien is suffering from a hamstring tear. He is expected to be out of play for 3 to 4 weeks.

The match can be watched from 3 PM on beIN Sports.
