For the first time as part of the Nice Book Festival, a prize will be awarded to the 2016 and 2017 winners of a short story competition dedicated to seniors.
This competition invites those aged 55 and over to take up the pen and write a short story based on a proposed theme.
For the 2016 edition, the proposed theme was “Journalist for a Day, Unusual Report.” For the 2017 edition, the proposed theme was “An Eagle Over Nice,” the same theme as the youth short story competition for a cross-generational perspective.
Presided over by Olympia Alberti, a writer, poetess, and Grand Prix winner of the Académie Française for her entire body of work, the jury selected 7 short stories out of the 70 in competition.
This Saturday, June 3rd, at 10:45 AM at the Authors’ Forum, the award-winning short stories will be compiled in a collection, and the prizes will be presented to the winners by Jean-Luc Gag, Deputy Mayor.
