Pierre Barone is no longer the president of the Face 06 association. The young man sees Jรฉrรดme Doyet, a student at the Institute of Administration and Business, succeed him. The Chรขteau de Valrose hosted the traditional Ordinary General Assembly in a very cordial atmosphere. The evening began with the unanimous approval of the financial and moral reports of the outgoing team. Now the former head of international relations within Face 06, Boubacar Mangara gives a positive assessment of the year that is ending.
What assessment do you make of the year that has just passed?
Babacar Mangara: โHonestly, itโs difficult to judge oneself, but I think the assessment is very positive. On a human level, associational life brings a lot and is a good means of socialization within the university […]โ.
If you had to delve deeper into certain decisions, what would you do?
B. M : โCompletely succeeding in one’s mandate is very difficult… As he [editor’s note: Pierre Barone, former president of Face 06] said earlier, we should give students who have an associative mandate a bit more leniency regarding their courses. Often, we canโt always be present, and when we donโt attend, we are penalized. Everyone should be able to come without having constraints within the university.โ
What message would you like to convey to the new team, led by Jรฉrรดme Doyet?
B. M : โAs Pierre said earlier, you need to have modesty. Thatโs what the associative environment is: there are outbursts from time to time. You have to be able to endure it, be available, and try to understand your colleagues. If you try to judge everyone by your own standards, you canโt succeed in this environment.โ
Personally, what future do you see for yourself?
B. M : โI have finished my studies, I have my diploma. It will be hard to turn the page on the associative environment. Once you catch the bug (sic), itโs difficult to get rid of it. Now, I am going to focus on my professional project. First, I want to start gaining experience in the private sector. In the future, I would like to create my own company in the field of finance and management.โ
Would you willingly renew an associative experience in the future?
B. M : (He seems undecided.) โHonestly, itโs hard to say! Sure, the associative life provides good times, but it also takes up a lot more time. You have less time for yourself and your professional projects because of the commitment. In the future, I may do it, but today, I have other priorities. That said, I regretted not getting involved in the associative environment sooner.โ
