A new Director of Communications at the City of Nice

With Caroline Magne-Ciotti having left her position, Christian Estrosi needed to find a successor, and God knows it wasn’t an easy task. The Mayor of Nice found the perfect fit locally by appointing Dimitri Triadafillidis, former General Manager of the Palais Acropolis. He will assume his duties this Monday at the main Town Hall.

dimitri_tridafillidis.jpg Born in Rhodes in 1961, Dimitri Triadafillidis came to France in 1984 after studying in London and the United States. He was the merchandising manager at Maison Dior and was later appointed to handle Disneyโ€™s development in Europe before arriving on the French Riviera in 1996 to establish his communication agency. In 2007, he took charge of the Palais Acropolis before transitioning, as of yesterday, into the local government sector.

It is true that “The Greek,” as he is often called due to a last name not always easily pronounced, is not arriving in uncharted territory at the Nice Town Hall. Indeed, the local government and the Palais Acropolis maintain strong and recurring ties, which provided Dimitri Triadafillidis with numerous opportunities to work with the team he will now lead from today onward.

A small surprise nonetheless, as some expected a more internal solution, while others had expressed a desire to access the position.
