“In order to indicate the definitive position of the city of Nice on the reopening of schools in the coming days, I am this week initiating a consultation phase with the directors of our 154 public schools, parents and representatives of parents of students, as well as with a local scientific council composed of infectious disease specialists from Lenval Hospital and the Nice University Hospital. I am doing the same with the families of children in our municipal nurseries,” said the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi.

“I will present my reopening plan at the end of this consultation phase,” he concluded.

In fact, although the government has planned a gradual return to school from May 11 to May 25, questions remain regarding the reception arrangements as well as the definition of a national health protocol detailing disinfection and cleaning procedures.

As a reminder, during his meeting with mayors and associations of elected officials last week, the Head of State committed to systematic testing for teachers, as well as mandatory mask-wearing for adults.
