Bars, restaurants: towards a three-step reopening

Latest News

In the midst of suffering despite generous government aid, hospitality professionals are working with the Ministry of Economy on a three-step reopening process, still without a schedule, for bars and restaurants.

This reopening is expected to interest only 70% of current operators, with the others expected to be left behind.

These three phases would each last four weeks. The first phase would only allow hotel restaurant guests to have breakfast in the dining room, while the second phase would see terraces as well as cafรฉ and restaurant dining rooms โ€” including those in hotels โ€” reopen at 50% of their capacity.

As for the third phase, it would be a “complete reopening of the establishments, without any capacity limit, but still in line with the reinforced health protocol.”

According to unofficial sources, the Government mentioned the method but has been more than discreet about the dates.

For now, we remain in the dark, but the scenario is being outlined for when the light returns.
