The next quarterly meeting of the COPIL CRP 06, which will bring together the representatives from the 30 partner municipalities on Monday, aims to synchronize the implementation of the inter-municipal strategy to combat the Red Palm Weevil and coordinate our actions to actively fight against the Red Palm Weevil during the autumn-winter of 2011-2012.
This pest indeed threatens our landscape heritage consisting of nearly 100,000 palm trees, which are both the symbol of our diversity and the iconic signature of the Cรดte d’Azur.
On this occasion, the Steering Committee of the inter-municipal Cรดte d’Azur strategy to combat the Red Palm Weevil will review the progress of the infestation in the contaminated area. The new preventive control program involving citizens, synchronized intervention procedures between the State and local authorities, as well as ongoing efforts with Europe, will also be presented.
