Starting from Thursday, May 28, 2009, passport applications will result, in accordance with a European directive, in the issuance of a biometric passport, which includes a chip containing the holder’s photo and digitized fingerprints.

Unlike the previous system, passport applications must no longer be submitted at the municipality of residence but only at designated “biometric stations” equipped for this purpose and spread throughout the territory.

There are 67 stations in the Alpes-Maritimes department across 31 sites:
– Roquebrune Cap Martin, Menton, Cap-d’Ail, Nice, Saint Laurent du Var, Cagnes sur Mer, Villeneuve Loubet, Antibes, Biot, Vallauris, Cannes, Mandelieu la Napoule, Le Cannet, Beausoleil, Beaulieu sur Mer, Grasse Mougins, Vence, Valbonne, Carros, St Auban, Contes, St André de la Roche, St Sauveur-sur-Tinee, Roquebillière, Puget Théniers, Breil sur Roya, St Martin du Var, Roquesteron, St Etienne de Tinée, Péone.

Applications can be submitted at any of these sites, regardless of the place of residence.
