On Monday, May 21, 2024, the distribution of body cameras to the security service of the Ligne d’Azur took place.

This Monday, Gaรซl Nofri, president of the Rรฉgie Ligne d’Azur, handed over body camera devices to the security services controllers of the Ligne d’Azur to ensure the safety of the agents.

In order to combat verbal and physical assaults that the controllers and security agents of the Ligne d’Azur suffer, they will henceforth be equipped with body cameras to record infractions against the agents. This measure complements the surveillance cameras installed in the trams and buses. “In 2023, there were five assaults resulting in work stoppage. Additionally, there were over sixty verbal assaults.” emphasizes Gaรซl Nofri, overseeing the distribution of cameras.

The city of Nice is among the first cities in France to implement these body cameras. Very focused on security issues, the municipality has deployed numerous measures such as: the distribution of cameras for law enforcement, the implementation of alert buttons, and surveillance cameras. The city of Nice aims to ensure the safety of users.
