Railway traffic is at a standstill over a large part of the Côte d’Azur. A failure on the railway network in Nice paralyzes train traffic between Cannes and Ventimiglia on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The regional Zou! network reports numerous cancellations and significant delays on the entire line.
According to the official X account of the regional network, the situation is due to “a failure in the railway network installation in Nice.” This technical incident is causing major disruptions on the coastal line.
“Traffic is interrupted in both directions between Ventimiglia and Cannes”, clarifies the regional Zou! network.
Traffic resumption postponed to Wednesday morning
A resumption of traffic was initially planned for late afternoon. Forecasts were subsequently revised. SNCF indicates that the current installation failure will not allow a return to normal until Wednesday, June 17 at 5 a.m.
The failure, located between Cagnes-sur-Mer and Monaco, is currently affecting all railway journeys on the Côte d’Azur. Passengers must turn to other transport solutions to reach their destination.
At Nice station, trains still in circulation are currently experiencing delays of nearly two hours. Many connections have also been cancelled.
Train traffic will therefore remain interrupted between Cannes and Ventimiglia until Wednesday morning, subject to developments in the technical work being carried out on the railway network.
