100 groups have been selected across France to participate in the first Young Talents competition by Caisse d’Epargne. Divided into 13 “territories,” the groups are subject to a public vote starting today to elect the 13 best regional artists who will participate in the competition final.
The 100 Young Talents in Competition
100 groups and artists are participating in the regional stage of the Young Talents Caisse d’Epargne competition. Among them, 90 have been selected from the “Scène en Régions” selection: they were spotted and pre-selected by 52 music professionals, the directors of concert halls partnered with Caisse d’Epargne.
The 10 other candidates were selected by internet users on www.espritmusique.fr and by a jury composed of Dailymotion and Zimbalam.
Stage 1: Regional Election, from January 3 to February 28
For this stage, which starts today, internet users will make the difference with their votes on the espritmusique.fr site. It’s enough to choose one of the 13 regions offered on the interactive map, discover the groups’ videos, then vote. Each user can vote once every 24 hours for their favorite regional group.
The Young Talent who receives the most votes in their region will be elected the regional winner. The list of the 13 regional winners will be announced on February 29, 2012, on espritmusique.fr.
The 13 elected regional Young Talents will receive the following rewards:
- A check for the amount of €1,000
- The inclusion of their chosen track on the free digital compilation “Jeunes Talents Caisse d’Epargne,” which will be broadcast on the internet in 2012
The 13 regional winners will participate in the second stage of the competition.
Stage 2: National Election of the 3 Young Talents Caisse d’Epargne 2012, March 20
Following the regional selection, the 13 regional Young Talents will participate in the election of the 3 national Young Talents Caisse d’Epargne. On March 20, 2012, the winners will be named by a jury composed of the directors of the 52 regional concert halls partnered with the competition, along with Zimbalam and Dailymotion.
The 3 national Young Talents will receive the following rewards:
- A check for €5,000
- A tour in the “Scènes en Régions” in May-June 2012 (at least 5 dates throughout France)
- The Scènes en Région: 52 partner venues that drive and promote the discovery of Young Talents
The Caisse d’Epargne has developed a program with FNAC entitled “Scènes en Régions,” aimed at contemporary music venues: rock, pop, electro, hip-hop. Fifty-two venues distributed across the territory of each of the seventeen regional Caisse d’Epargne banks have agreed to adhere to this program. Scènes en Régions aims to give greater visibility to regional venues and artists throughout the year. An annual financial support is also provided by Caisse d’Epargne to enable all these concert halls to strengthen their promotion and distribution of live music in the regions.
The Scènes en Régions are at the heart of the Jeunes Talents Caisse d’Epargne initiative. They have been solicited to choose one or two developing groups in their region. Their choices enabled 90 groups to perform in the “Scènes en Régions” as part of opening acts funded by Caisse d’Epargne. During these concerts, all groups benefited from professional video recordings funded by Caisse d’Epargne, which were used on espritmusique.fr to present the groups competing in the Young Talents competition.
SoundPlaces: the must-have app to discover musical talents near you
SoundPlaces is Caisse d’Epargne’s music app, Local, Social, and Mobile “SoLoMo,” which “uncovers” artists near you.
After espritmusique, the Caisse d’Epargne has launched SoundPlaces, a digital and musical application intended for all music enthusiasts: continuous music, automatic content updates, optimization of sharing via social networks are the features of SoundPlaces. This app is also one of the key vectors of the Young Talents and Scènes en Région programs, allowing mobile and internet users to vote for the artist of their choice.
The Caisse d’Epargne, the bank with the “Music Spirit”
Because music comes from all horizons, the Caisse d’Epargne aims to amplify all musical energies from all regions. It has thus developed www.espritmusique.fr, a “digital ecosystem” (site and blog, a Facebook page, and a Twitter account) that allows internet users to be informed of all Caisse d’Epargne initiatives in the world of music, events concerts of its partners, the programming of regional venues… The content of espritmusique.fr is partly written by bloggers, the “soundtribalisers,” who share their musical experiences and current favorites with internet users.
