Presented as one of the most iconic shopping centers in Europe due to its location, especially with its sea view, “Cap3000 has been renovated in its time.” Christian Estrosi, President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropolis, Joseph Segura, Mayor of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, and Gilles Boissonnet, Chairman of the Board of Altarea, came to inaugurate the renovation of Cap 3000.
After 2 years of work and a total cost of 200 million euros, the renovation work is coming to an end. It is a shopping center reimagined for its time that is emerging. Equipped with enhanced digital features and a redesigned look, the place has become almost unique in its kind.
The company in charge of the renovation of Cap 3000, Altarea Cogedim, wanted to preserve this sea spirit within the establishment. To achieve this, a one-of-a-kind digital setup was installed at the center of the mall.
The “Digital Wave,” a 100mยฒ screen made up of 2.5 million pixels, along with 4 large pillars equipped with LED mesh to relay its content. This Digital Wave, standing 5 meters tall, will allow for the broadcast of collective animations, offer visitors a new form of attraction and allow them to interact via videos and photos posted on the screen.
The new architecture has also brought volume and space to the shopping center. Glass structure, wood, lacquered aluminum… all the materials used as well as the openings made in the ceilings give the impression of being inside a gigantic cruise ship.
The location of Cap 3000 “will allow for the development of our economy,” explains Christian Estrosi. Indeed, not far from the airport, with the upcoming arrival of the tramway and the relocation of the Saint-Augustin railway station, as well as a parking lot with 3500 spaces, the center will welcome about 14 million visitors per year. In total, 1500 jobs will be created after the few finishing touches that remain.
