“For the past few days, we have been learning that C. Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, wants to make the UMP the people’s party.
Indeed, ever since his removal from the ministries and his lack of Parisian engagement, he is ready to do anything to make headlines and try to avoid a media desert crossing!
So, for several weeks, he has been inventing a new social fiber!
After references to social Gaullism, criticisms of the liberal excesses of the UMP, now he wants to advocate for reducing the margins of large retailers.
If this sudden social revelation of C. Estrosi were sincere, we would not have hesitated to propose he signs our petition “Against High Living Costs” which calls for increasing salaries instead of shareholder dividends, freezing prices and rents, and taxing profits and speculation.
But this social shift of Christian Estrosi is purely superficial. More than ever, he supports a UMP government that advocates rigor and austerity for employees, retirees, the unemployed… which encourages bank speculation and continues to enrich shareholders.”
