Starting from April 2, the National Assembly is reviewing the “Made in Medef” bill. To protest, the French Communist Party (PCF) is organizing a rally on April 4 at 5:30 PM in front of the Socialist Party (PS) federation headquarters in Nice, located at 9 Rue Biscarra. A delegation will be available to meet with PS leaders to explain their reasons for opposing this bill.
For Cécile Dumas, departmental secretary of the PCF in Alpes-Maritime: “This bill is a direct attack on permanent contracts (CDI), aiming to undermine their significance to ‘facilitate’ not employment but termination, layoffs.”
To achieve this, the bill seeks to reduce negotiations to individual employee/employer relations at the expense of collective bargaining and locks in measures to avoid judicial intervention. It even goes as far as to legalize salary reductions. This is a dismantling of labor law. We do not want this text!
We got rid of Sarkozy, not to see a PS/EELV government enact the laws demanded by Medef!”
There is likely to be quite an atmosphere tonight on Rue Biscarra…
