At the special preview of Cali’s concert, this coming Friday, May 12th at Nikaïa, the associates of Jean-Louis Rougier will finally get to showcase on a “home” stage.

Significantly influenced by Charles Bukowski, the exceptional writer whose name they have adopted for their group, these five individuals from Nice navigate through rock, trip hop, and French chanson influences.

Here, everyday scenes are captured with “disillusion.” They discuss male-female relationships, loneliness, and alcohol—elements that make up the universe of urban youth who might have grown up between [Georges] Brassens and the Stranglers. The routine is shown in a new light, bringing a smile, sometimes reluctantly, to those who can relate.

Since 2000, the year their first album “Le fiel peut attendre” was released, Chinaski has been touring France and charming audiences they encounter.
After “Toilettes intimes” in 2003, the quintet from Nice attempts to rejuvenate realistic French rock with their third album “Chemin des allongés,” which combines passionate derision and alluring cruelty.
