Corinne Hermès as the “Real” One

Latest News

“If life is a gift” allowed her to win the Grand Prix at Eurovision in 1983 in Munich. After “Draw me”, she received the award for female breakthrough artist at the Victoire de la Musique in 1989.

Years pass and Corinne Hermès does not give up on her musical passion. She tours across France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Asia Minor, Italy… She composes for other performing artists and creates themes for television shows…

From singing talent to composing talent, there’s only a step.

From time to time, she pauses to better let you follow her.

On May 9, “the day is here” to announce the release of her latest album in which you discover Corinne Hermès in “True” form. An album 100% pleasure.

Nice-Première: Your next album is released on May 9, why choose “True” as the title?

Corinne Hermès: Because it resembles me?!

N-P: How would you define your album?

C.H.: Pop folk variety

N-P: Tell us about the first song on the album “we live as we love”, why choose this song for a video clip?

C.H.: A bit out of superstition… it’s the first title that I composed for this album, first text written by Frédéric Kocourek and arranged by Jean Philippe Hann.
Thrive, I had found my team and my universe… Everything I dreamed of!!!

N-P: The song “those who give everything” is a tribute to volunteers, to those who extend their hand to “that half of the world that the other is afraid to love”.

“Humanity” a “word almost forgotten” – what should be done to make this grand word illuminate our world?

C.H.: I have a deep admiration for these people who give their lives to others, I really wanted to pay them a tribute… I wish this message would touch hearts.

N-P: In “Emmy”, you address the theme of a teenager’s malaise, a problem encountered by many young people. Do you think today’s youth is the same as it was 20 years ago?

C.H.: It seems to me that it’s different…more informed, more open, more adult but at the same time more fragile.

N-P: We can endure violence, we can face intolerance, we can bridge the distances, we can ignore immense fears, we can forget the suffering, but “how to live with” an “absence” of a loved one?

C.H.: We don’t live, we survive.

N-P: Your album closes with an anthem to love “if it’s you” written by Séverine Vincent. Who do you dedicate this song to?

C.H.: To the one who gave me the strength to reach you today, my audience.

N-P: An album, a new baby, what are your other projects?

C.H.: A tour, to do as many concerts as possible and to continue composing…

N-P: You also compose for other artists: Ludovic Delamoga and Michal. A woman writing songs for men. Is that difficult?

C.H.: Composing for other artists is a true passion! The encounters are often rich, whether it’s with girls or boys, it’s all a matter of sensitivity…

N-P: Today you have more than 20 years of career, how would you describe yourself?

C.H.: I’ve been lucky to live my passion, the music, singing, the concerts, and a love story with my audience.

N-P: Are you familiar with the French Riviera?

C.H.: Yes, I know it very well! I am often there, since a large part of my family resides there. And I love it!

N-P: If I say “first”, what and who do you think of?

C.H.: My first love, my first success!

N-P: What is the question you would have liked me to ask you?

C.H.: “If I’m happy???”… and the answer would be “Yes!!”
