The “fight” of Christian Estrosi against Marine Le Pen and, as a result, in support of Emmanuel Macron continues day after day.
It is an incessant barrage, and whatever the result will be, it is the most obvious and evident when compared to the more timid support from the traditional left-wing parties and the lack of response from the local structures of the En Marche movement.
There are certainly reasons motivating the president of the Métropole to engage in such a way. His reference to republican values and to the names De Gaulle, Chirac, and Sarkozy opens up to questionable considerations (for example, what could be the link between the General and Sarkozy?) could be one of them.
But, as a shrewd politician, Christian Estrosi undoubtedly has other motivations that we will discover later.
For now, we remain in the present reality: Macron for president.
Some excerpts from the text:
Marine Le Pen, the candidate of inward-looking policies, carries an economic plan that would bankrupt our country. Above all, it marks the rise to power of a clan that, through its association with Jean Marie Le Pen, remains racist and immoral, as it is particularly evident in its challenge to the responsibility of the French state in the Holocaust.
Here more than elsewhere, we know that the candidate of the National Front, with her identity-based allies, represents what we, the people of Nice, have always fought against: hatred of others, xenophobia, racism, negationism…
In the face of this danger, and despite my numerous disagreements with the project he represents, I consider that the only possible vote is for Emmanuel Macron. It was not my choice. He is not my candidate. But it is a vote of responsibility.
