Increase in Security in Nice in 2024
In 2024, the city of Nice plans to implement new security measures in priority neighborhoods. Particularly in the Moulins district, where crime increased in 2023 with over 925 arrests and 64 convictions.
โTo ensure the prosperity of neighborhood families, we must be given the weapons of war to wage war,โ declared the city’s mayor due to the increase in drug trafficking in the Moulins district.
The municipality aims for better police equipment, notably with the construction of a police hotel and improved video surveillance. The mayor praised the implementation of emergency buttons provided to teachers and shopkeepers.
Christian Estrosi, the โChef Ratatouilleโ Canteen
Christian Estrosi is committed to school catering and presented himself to children as the โChef Ratatouille.โ The mayor celebrated having negotiated competitive prices for canteens and social restaurants. For schools for polyhandicapped children, the mayor promises quality meals for the children. Christian Estrosi assured the opening of four to five establishments for autistic and polyhandicapped people in Nice.
He reiterated his health policy with the opening of phase 2 of the Pasteur 2 hospital in 2025 and the construction of a health center in the Var plain. He intends to set up a section for autistic children in the support of sick children.
