Many consider him close to Emmanuel Macron, Christian Estrosi, one of the most influential men in the PACA region and mayor of the city of Nice and president of its metropolitan area, could take on a ministerial role at Matignon.
Although he repeatedly expresses his attachment to his beloved city, for which he has advocated and defended its interests for many years, there are many indications that suggest he has a clear interest in once again playing a strategic role in the nation. He even states on this subject that he wants to “voice the concerns of France’s territories” and also says that “major reforms that change the rule” are needed. He believes that these decisions should be discussed between the president, the government, and parliamentarians. He also wishes to involve local authorities in this process.
All these points we have just mentioned only confirm our belief that the current mayor would be a serious candidate for a ministry in charge of local authorities.
