Civic service youth meet the mayor of Nice.

Latest News

Around twenty young people engaged in civic service had the opportunity to freely exchange with the mayor of Nice, Philippe Pradal, during a meeting organized as part of their mission.

It was an opportunity for these trainees to question the chief magistrate on certain current issues and to learn about the administrative functioning of a community.

Without jumping to conclusions, it is very likely that the multiplication of such initiatives would promote a better understanding of the political class and the abandonment of the belief that they’re all the same!

Ultimately, it was a small agora that benefited everyone.

Unis-Cité is one of the pioneering civic service associations in France. It was established in 1994 and has 65 branches across the national territory, including one based in Nice.

Unis-Cité’s main objective is to host and support young volunteers in civic service for a period of 6 to 9 months full-time, on missions of general interest carried out exclusively in teams. Since Unis-Cité was founded, more than 16,000 young people have benefited from this program, including 3,500 in 2016.

Again this year, many young people, aged 16 to 25, are engaged full-time and in teams on missions of general interest, in response to priority social needs.
