This Sunday, March 26 at 7 PM at Pathรฉ-Massรฉna
The 10th edition of the NIFF (Nice Israel Film Festival), which began on Sunday, February 26, will conclude on Sunday, March 26, with the awarding of the “Golden Mimosas,” honoring the best of the 5 films and 5 short films in competition.
For this closing ceremony at Pathรฉ-Massรฉna, a renowned guest from Israeli cinema and patron of the 10th edition of the NIFF will also be present: the actor Roy Assaf (twice Ophir Award winner for Best Israeli Actor in 2013 and 2015โthe equivalent of our Cรฉsars), whom the French audience discovered in the series “False Flag,” broadcast on Canal+.
This year, the NIFF set a goal: to exceed 15,000 spectators since its creation in 2008. On Sunday, March 19, during the screening of the 4th film, this goal was achieved. Once again, the audience in Nice is present for this 10th edition of the festival. This success is particularly that of Israeli cinema, which constantly renews itself: a cinema that is free, committed, daring, and always close to reality.
It is also a success for the whole team of passionate film enthusiasts, under the direction of Alain Enkaoua and the Bnai Brith Golda Meir Association (all volunteers), who, as every year, will donate all the proceeds from the festival to charitable causes.
The last film presented will be “Our Father,” which follows the journey of a nightclub bouncer in Tel Aviv who, along with his partner, unsuccessfully seeks to have a child. A private clinic promises very good results, but the cost is very high. The bouncer then accepts a handsome sum of money from a small-time gangster in exchange for some dubious services.
