It will be impossible to travel on the Mathis road on September 7th and 8th, 2010 from 10 PM to 6 AM. The North lane will be completely closed. It will also be unnecessary to take the South lane from St-Augustin to St-Philippe. The reason? The municipality wishes to protect residents from noise pollution, improve safety, and beautify the road. To achieve these goals, plans include installing noise barriers, upgrading public lighting installations, and creating or redeveloping a green space of 7,500 m². In keeping with current trends, the project aligns with sustainable development principles. More than fifty different species have been selected to form the plant palette, etc. Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, visited the Mathis road to observe the progress of the requalification works on the South lane. The cost of the works amounts to 15 million euros.
