An interview with Marlon Forte
Where does the name “Clove and Cinnamon” come from?
“Clove for ‘Giro,’ which is my father’s nickname, and Cinnamon to represent my parents’ couple. These two spices evoke sweet and comforting aromas.”
How do your homemade creations come to life?
“The creation of our spice blends and other homemade products draws from our experience, and through our collaborator Will, a chef. He brings his culinary expertise; the combination of dishes and homemade blends is a technical work and research. Our customers also bring us new ideas when we don’t offer them in the store. Our homemade blends (spices, salts, alcohol, tea…) are dear to us because they are our core business, our pride, and our signature products. We aim to meet the desires of gourmets and evolve with current culinary trends!”
Who is your clientele?
“Everyone! We work with Michelin-starred chefs, restaurants, bakeries, cocktail bars… And we provide advice and ideas to amateurs who want to revolutionize their cooking!”
Do you have any development projects?
“We are expanding the store with a larger space dedicated to teas and infusions, and their creations. Our homemade range will also expand with new products such as flavored wines, syrups, and more noble products like foie gras, truffles, caviar… We are rich in classic and innovative gourmet ideas!”
