Since 2006, May 10th has been officially recognized as the day to commemorate the abolition of slavery in 1848. France was the first and only country in the world to declare the slave trade and slavery a “crime against humanity”. From Tuesday, May 10th to Saturday, May 28th, 2011, various events will follow to pay tribute.

In a welcoming atmosphere, where the words “exchange” and “fraternity” take on their full meaning, several events are organized to honor all those who were victims of slavery and to highlight the diversity and cultural contributions of each individual under a common theme of “Living Better Together”.
