For the former LR deputy, it is important to commemorate our heroes. “If we are here, if we are free, it is thanks to these names. Three thousand six hundred. When they left for Chemin des Dames, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, they were between eighteen and twenty-two years old. They fell and were never able to return to their families. This war memorial is the strongest in all of France. From an architectural point of view, it is recognized as one of the most beautiful monuments in France. It is also the only monument in France that embodies the fact that there is a people who became French through the blood shed and not by the blood received.”
