This Wednesday, June 1st, is a special day for the catering services of several school establishments in the department thanks to the cooking competition.
โChef, what are you cooking up for usโ, is its name, is a competition organized by the department as part of the policy in favor of healthy eating and more generally in the spirit of transmitting ecological values. This project was born from the desire to promote a healthy and sustainable diet, but also with the aim of starting a taste education so that today’s teenagers become interested in products they are not used to encountering.
In the second year, chef Christian Plumail, accompanied by the president of the Alpes-Maritimes department Charles-Ange Ginesy, presented five awards to five of the eleven participating establishments that we congratulate:
The third place goes to Carnot College of Grasse and its team led by chef Montalbano.
The second place on the podium goes to Paul-Arene College of Peymeinade directed by chef Le Bris.
The winning establishment of this second edition of the cooking competition โChef, what are you cooking up for usโ with the theme of the vegetarian meal is Jean-Saline College of Roquebilliรจre and its chef Mr. Florentin.
The Arnaud-Beltrame College of Pegomas and Andrรฉ-Maurois College of Menton also received a special jury prize with the honorable mention.
The department wishes to continue working in this spirit of renewal of school cafeterias to fight against waste and to raise awareness as much as possible among the adults of tomorrow.
Several workshops are set up in the colleges of the department to involve the students in their own consumption system.
Congratulations to all the participants. The department hopes that more and more establishments will register.
