Pas-de-Calais is currently experiencing its first weekend under partial lockdown, following Dunkerque, Nice, and the Alpes-Maritimes coast, which are in their second. In the Alpes-Maritimes, the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, has planned an acceleration of the vaccination campaign in the Nice metropolitan area by aiming to vaccinate 120,000 people in the next 48 hours. This could be a record number in France. As a reminder, the department holds one of the highest incidence rates in the entire national territory. It also has the highest rate in the PACA region (566).
Over the last 24 hours, health authorities have recorded 23,306 new Covid-19 cases and 173 deaths in France, according to the latest information provided by the Santé Publique France agency.
The total count has now increased to 3,859,102 confirmed cases and 88,470 deaths (including 63,296 in hospitals) since the beginning of the health crisis.
The test positivity rate remains stable at 7.3%. As of March 5, 3,581,812 people have received at least one vaccine dose across the entire national territory, which is 189,543 more than the previous day.
There have been 9,310 new hospitalizations and 2,007 admissions to intensive care over the last seven days.
