These areas are subject to “enhanced surveillance” due to the rapid spread of Covid-19 and its variants, which could lead to stricter health measures, similar to the local confinement in Dunkirk and Nice.
According to the latest information from the Public Health Agency of France, 23,996 new coronavirus cases have been detected, and 186 hospital deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. The total count has risen to 3,736,016 confirmed cases and 86,332 hospital deaths since the beginning of the epidemic in France.
The positivity rate of the tests has once again slightly increased compared to the previous day: 7.2% versus 6.9%. There have been 9,467 new hospitalizations and 1,841 admissions to intensive care unit reported over the past seven days.
