Coronavirus: a total of 5 confirmed cases on the Côte d’Azur

Latest News

France has reached 100 cases*, including 5 in the Alpes-Maritimes, as confirmed by the Regional Health Agency. “This involves two female patients aged 69 and 75 returning from a stay in a high-risk exposure area and a male patient residing in Italy and staying in the Alpes-Maritimes, aged 69.”

With the case of the young woman from Cannes confirmed yesterday by the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, and that of the Monegasque patient currently hospitalized at the Nice University Hospital, this brings the number of Covid-19 positive patients on the Côte d’Azur to 5.

Good news: the Nice University Hospital is now operational for the screening and care of patients affected by the coronavirus. Next week, an automated system will further reduce the testing time for diagnosis.

Additionally, the team of Professor Valérie Giordanengo, head of the virology department, is fully mobilized and has implemented an additional technique to improve diagnostic accuracy.
