Amusement and leisure parks represent one of the favorite activities for French families. In the country, the choices are vast. On the Côte d’Azur, adventure and water parks are omnipresent. Here’s an overview of entertainment venues in the Var and Alpes Maritimes departments.
Have fun, enjoy yourself, and spend quality time with family. The amusement and leisure parks in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region fulfill the needs of almost everyone. With the upcoming summer season, water parks are preparing to open their doors. That is the case for Aqualand, located at 325 rue Jean-Jaures in Fréjus. It opens its doors on June 18. On the agenda, tubing down water slides, zigzags in various slides, or simply relaxing in designated areas.
For those who prefer aquatic animals over thrill rides, Marineland welcomes its visitors all year round in Antibes-Juan-Les-Pins. You’ll find almost all the major marine mammals. Dolphins and orcas await you for dazzling shows, sea lions will bring you joy, and if you’re interested in thrills, head towards the sharks or the piranha pools!
Not just water parks
The Côte d’Azur isn’t just about Aqualand or Marineland. Rest assured, if you or your children have a fear of water, other parks will be more suited to your desires. Do you love adventure and nature? The treetop adventure courses in Le Muy, Signes, Luceram, or Six-Fours-les-Plages, adapted to different ages, entertain both young and old, whether visiting with friends or family.
If you prefer treasure hunt-style adventures, the maze in Villeneuve-Loubet offers a 4 km course filled with puzzles. The site features a total of 48 games to discover.
The treasure hunt in Beaulieu-sur-Mer also allows you to push your limits and face challenges leading to the treasure chest. Become Sherlock Holmes for a day.
The only disappointment on the Côte d’Azur is the lack of, or almost no, high-thrill amusement parks. Only Antibes Land might offer you a few thrill rides. Forget roller coasters with loops and other supersonic rides. For enthusiasts, the only options are to travel across France to Marne la Vallée (Disneyland) or even to the German border to Europapark, which has the tallest roller coaster in Europe.
