5,298 new coronavirus infections have been recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 458,061 since the start of the epidemic, according to figures published this Monday by Public Health France. This figure is half the number reported the previous day, partly due to the closure of laboratories on Sunday.

There is no real cause for celebration as, in addition to this, state services have recorded 209 new hospitalizations (+4.5%) this Monday. The number of people in intensive care has also increased, reaching 919 patients. The number of deaths in hospitals has tripled compared to the previous day. As for the number of clusters, it remains stable at 1,077, which is 32 more than the previous day.
