18,746 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the last 24 hours. This is a record since the use of large-scale testing. The positivity rate of the tests is 9.1% according to Santé Publique France.
The ministry also reports that 80 people have died in the hospital during this same period, bringing the death toll to 32,445 since the beginning of the epidemic.
According to official figures, 7,563 people are currently hospitalized in France due to Covid-19 infection, with 138 patients admitted in the last 24 hours. The ministry also indicates that 143 people have entered intensive care in the past 24 hours. In total, 1,416 patients are in intensive care in France.
96 clusters have also been detected in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of clusters under investigation to 1,267 in the country.
