COVID-19: Mandatory Test at the Italian Border

Latest News

The news was announced this Monday by the Italian Health Minister following an increase in coronavirus cases in the PACA region. Seven regions of France are affected by this measure.

On social media, Roberto Speranza, the Italian Health Minister, explained that he had signed a new ordinance making molecular and antigenic tests (which provide results in less than 30 minutes) mandatory at the border. For now, these tests are required for French people traveling to Italy.
However, only people coming from Paris and the รŽle-de-France, as well as from the Auvergne-Rhรดne-Alpes, Corsica, Hauts-de-France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Occitanie, and the PACA region, which is particularly affected by the virus, are subject to the measure.

I have signed a new ordinance extending the requirement for molecular or antigenic tests to citizens from Paris and other regions of France. The European figures are critical. Italy is better off than other countries, but great prudence is necessary to avoid undoing the sacrifices made so far, the minister highlighted in his tweet.

Italy has recorded 1,350 new coronavirus contamination cases today in the last 24 hours, according to figures provided by the Ministry of Health.
Our transalpine neighbors have a total of 35,724 deaths caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.
