The deterioration of the epidemic indicators continued this Saturday. The number of new cases detected, which has been rising sharply for two weeks, increased again.
Primarily, the number of new positive cases jumped by 88% in one week.
On average, over the past week, there are 6,688 positive tests per day, compared to 3,533 the previous week. The incidence rate, which is the number of positive cases per 100,000 people, also continues its rise, just above the alert level at 50.5.
These weekly averages may nevertheless be underestimated due to the July 14 public holiday, when fewer tests were conducted.
In hospitals, this confirmed resurgence in the increase of cases is starting to be noticed. The decline seems to be giving way to a slight increase, on average over the week, in the various services.
According to figures from the Ministry of Health, more than 37.4 million people have received an injection, and more than 30 million have a complete vaccination schedule.
