Since 1991, the Alpes-Maritimes Department has supported sailing, notably through 14 nautical bases labeled by the Department, which welcome more than 6,000 middle school students from 41 establishments, 200 physical education and sports teachers, as well as more than 600 people with disabilities from 50 specialized organizations each year.
The School Sailing Plan provides for 2,000 sessions per year. In this context, Charles-Ange Ginésy will hand over safety vests to the 14 nautical bases in the department this Friday at the Nice Nautical Club.
This allocation will ensure optimal safety for participants at the certified nautical bases and meet the requirements of sailing practice. 1,151 safety vests in the colors of the Department will be made available to clubs and nautical bases registered in the school sailing or handi-sailing plans. The clubs will receive an allocation of 40 to 100 vests per nautical base, depending on the number of students received for a sailing session.
