This Saturday, September 22, the CCAS of the city of Menton organized the “Early Childhood Fair” to allow families to better understand the available childcare options in the town and to discover all the services offered to both parents and professionals.
From 10am to 6pm this Saturday, the Palais de l’Europe in Menton took on the appearance of a giant nursery! For this 4th edition of the Early Childhood Fair, children from 0 to 6 years old and their parents were invited to discover a space entirely dedicated to the world of early childhood.
This was an opportunity to discover, at the beginning of the school year, the collective childcare facilities of the city, the municipal family nursery, the childminder relay, and the toy library.
For this event, the childminders of the city mobilized and attended this important back-to-school event. The town of Menton has over 150 outside of public structures, and many places are still available in the private or family network, for a cost that can be equivalent or even lower than that of a collective childcare facility.
For this discovery day, many activities were organized for the very young and older children alike: the discovery of modeling, painting, face painting, an educational games area for the little ones… Other fun games were available to learn to distinguish colors through a motor skills course, a coloring workshop, or the “color wheel” offered by the toy library, as well as making a snack bag, etc.
For the very young, a “cocoon” was created, where it was possible for parents to meet the different stakeholders of the fair.
To guide future parents, prenatal yoga sessions were arranged, along with workshops: massage, babywearing, infant sign language, and body development workshops with the “La Garde” association.
