On Thursday, September 20, 2012, at 3 p.m., Mr. Eric Ciotti, Deputy, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, and Christian Estrosi, Deputy-Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, will inaugurate the “Laure Ecard” performance hall and sports facilities at 50 boulevard Saint-Roch (formerly Peugeot garage).
Laure Ecard, a young basketball player from Nice, lost her life on the side of a road after a basketball match with her club Nice CO on April 6, 2008. Alongside her, Mr. Gilles Renard, who came to offer assistance, also passed away. Three players from the club, Lola, Cรฉcilia, and Marie, were seriously injured.
New local facilities for the Saint-Roch neighborhood
Two sports halls, with a total area of 650 mยฒ including a climbing wall, and a performance hall with 242 seats have been developed in the former Peugeot garage.
Intended for the students of Giono College, these facilities will also be open to associations and the public outside school hours.
On the 1st level, over an area of approximately 1,200 mยฒ, owned by the City of Nice, is the Municipal House of Associations Nice-East / Saint Roch, a true hub of activities for the area.
