Economy: the number of jobs increases by 250,000 units. Is it enough to reduce unemployment?

Latest News

Insee published data on job creation for the third quarter of 2019. Compared to the third quarter of 2018, 231,000 jobs were created in the private sector and 27,700 in the public sector. Therefore, the private sector experienced a 1% increase in the number of jobs.

This won’t be enough to significantly reduce unemployment, but it is good news for the country: the number of jobs is increasing, which means the economy is in good health.

An ongoing increase: 0.2% more jobs in France, between the second quarter of 2019 and the third, again in the private sector, which represents a net creation of 33,700 jobs.

Unsurprisingly, it is the commercial sector, the service industry, that creates the most jobs: 167,500 net creations over a year, followed by construction (42,200 creations in one year) and industry (17,400).
