Indeed, COVID has made recent years challenging for the healthcare sector. The Antoine Lacassagne Center is no exception, and Emmanuel Barranger has successfully navigated this crisis that shook the world. Drawing on his experience, he states he is aware of the regionโs needs and the six main themes he wishes to develop. Emmanuel Barranger outlines the following goals: โ(1) always provide better care, (2) enhance collaborative work, (3) further engage patients, (4) expand our territorial collaborations, (5) continue our digital transformation, and (6) prepare the infrastructures of tomorrow within a sustainable framework.โ
What is the next challenge?
The next challenge that Emmanuel Barranger will face is the project of merging the Nice University Hospital (CHU), the Lenval Foundation, and the Antoine Lacassagne Center to form a “super hospitalโ. The consolidation of these organizations in the Var plain will greatly impact the Nice region. It will be necessary to manage the progress of this project, which begins with difficulties and misunderstandings among the hierarchical entities. This appointment follows the unanimous vote of the Centerโs Board of Directors and the favorable opinion of UNICANCER, the Federation of Cancer Fighting Centers. It is hoped that Emmanuel Barranger will rise to the occasion to meet the challenges that this new chapter of healthcare in Nice will present to him.
