End of the conflict at Semiacs: the company will be taken over under public management.

Latest News

The suspense is over: Semiacs will be taken over by the City of Nice and the Metropolitan area. Christian Estrosi announced it to the union delegates of the company, who, given the company’s ongoing issues and recurring scandals, feared a privatization.

The jobs (a little over a hundred) will thus be preserved, and the president of the Metropolitan area will be able to fulfill the commitment made to the Regional Court of Auditors: “the activities currently managed by SEMIACS will indeed be taken over by the city of Nice and the Metropolitan area.”

Being a man of his word, Christian Estrosi followed through on his promise to the unions who were poised for action and threatening to strike during the Euro: “Trust me, I will not disappoint you.”

It’s done, as we predicted in our article on June 13.

An easy bet… Not really, unless you buy all the lottery tickets!

On July 12, the Metropolitan Council will deliberate on this matter.
